Who can see a journal
Only the people who have joined that journal. No one else can find it, browse it, or search it — there is no public or discoverable version of any journal.
Answer privately, reveal together
Some questions go to everyone in a journal on the same day. An answer stays hidden from the others until that person has written their own — then everyone's answer appears together. Nothing is ever shared outside a journal's members.
Photos
Photos are kept in private storage, not on the open web. The app requests a short-lived link only after someone is signed in as a journal member. Anyone who has that link can use it until it expires, so it should be treated as private. Original photos upload separately and may remain pending. Once stored, Samira keeps the original file unedited, including any location it recorded. Journal members can request a temporary link to the stored original, too.
Notifications
A reminder never includes anything from a journal — not the question, not an answer, and not a baby's name. It only tells someone that something is waiting.
What's deleted, and when
When someone removes a memory or a photo, it disappears from the journal immediately. Samira then attempts to delete its stored files; a storage problem can mean that cleanup takes longer. Account deletion removes stored photos before deleting the account's journal records. Check the result shown on screen; storage cleanup may need another attempt. This can't be undone.
Keep your own copy
Anyone in a journal can download their visible journal text, dates, and photo references as a data file at any time, from that journal's privacy page.
